    I've sold quite a few items on FB Marketplace. It's always been a face-to-face cash sale, with us meeting at a safe, convenient place.

    Now, apparently, FB is allowing you to ship items, as well as purchase things to be shipped.

    Has anyone bought stuff on FB to be shipped? How was it? Doesn't look it has the buyer protections that eBay offers, so I'm kind of skeptical.

    The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

      I have had good luck with local sales there too, but now they want to add free shipping to every item. I cannot see how that works for them so I have stayed away from it. The old 'if you don't know what the product is, it's you' thing.

        @george-k

        I have ordered a few items that popped up on FB - not sure if it was under FB Marketplace or just an ad I replied to directly. I got some tee shirts from Tee Public and another place, got an iPhone cover, but didn't get two other things, one of which I ordered 45 days ago. I am hoping it is coming from Hong Kong and will still show up.

          What type of stuff are we talking about?

          This might sound really snobbish...but lately I just give stuff away. Even this morning we had a tall fan that works fine that I just put “Free, works fine” post-it note on it and left it in my condo trash room. Stuff there goes in like 10 minutes, and I’m happy someone is able to use it.

          I mean, if I had a bike I’d sell it but these days...and maybe because we are trying to purge a bit before the move, the smaller stuff is easier to just donate or give away.
