You have to think they did not want loss of life, which would indicate a message of some sort.

Police said that the RV looked "suspicious" and they were telling people to clear the area before the explosion. They also commented that these types of events always leave lots of forensic evidence. FBI is taking the lead.

cnn says Nashville police say there were "announcements broadcasting from the vehicle" prior to the explosion

Feels weird, the one time I visited Nashville I stayed right on that block. Makes the video feel “more real” to me.

It was a trap to draw in policemen and kill them, in my opinion. It was not the bombers intent to kill civilians, which is why it was set for that early in the morning. There was a recording that started playing from the RV telling people to evacuate because the RV was set to explode. Whoever did it wanted to get civilians to run away, and police to run to, the RV.

Some of those people have occasional bad behavior, but they wouldn't do this.
