I have avoided and will continue to avoid the minivan.

I rode in a Sienna almost every weekend for 3 years and it seemed like a fine car. My buddy had one and we had boys the same age and would take them out Saturdays

Minivans rock. I don't understand the problem many people have with them, who'll then go on to buy an SUV, which is basically the same thing except that it sits 10 inches highe, costs $10K more, and has worse mileage (says the owner of a SUV).

Obviously there are nicer looking cars, but if one has a large family and/or a lot of stuff to haul, this is usually not on the top spot of the priority list.

I don't understand the problem many people have with them,

My main problem when I owned one was all the shit I took from people about it. I'm finally getting to unload it.

          I was only joking

Form follows function. I loved my Odyssey.

I've owned three minivans. They were all functional for the reasons one buys a minivan - hauling 4 kids around, trips to the Cheddarshack. All were Chrysler products (Two Dodge's and a Chrysler). At the time of our first one, there was only the Dodge Caravan. At the time of the second, we wanted the extra room in back, so it was the Chrysler Town & Country. If I recall, no other van had that room in the back at the time (1992).

Our third was a Dodge Grand Caravan (1997). At the time, it was the only one with AWD, which we needed to climb the hill at the Cheddarshack. I tried it in my Honda Prelude with about an inch of snow on the ground - it was a miserable failure.

All that said, I never "enjoyed" any of them. They did the job, they were comfortable enough, and, being Chrysler products, had their share of issues. I was glad to be rid of them.

No I don't, in fact I don't have a bloody car at all. I'm permitted to drive the wife's car. Mine crapped out in the fall, and there doesn't seem much point in buying another one just so it can sit on the driveway.

The Chevy Astro was the best car ever.

I had 2, and drove each for over 14 years.

They are no longer made or I would own my third.

The visibility was the best, and you could remove the seats and carry a ton of stuff.

I hauled a lot of expensive lumber in our minivans.

I learned to drive in its counterpart - GMC Safari.

My uncle had one too - he would take the middle seat out, throw a foam mattress in and take us for road trips.
