    "Key Priorities: COVID-19
    Joe Biden

Testing: Improve testing capacity and accessibility,
PPE: Expand access to personal protective equipment, or PPE.
Vaccine: Establish a plan for effectively producing and safely distributing a vaccine.
Race: Address disproportionate effects of COVID-19 on communities of color."

    1. Already done and unnecessary. You can get a test anywhere in the country within 24 hours if you need one.

    2. Already done - https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/08/business/automakers-ppe-ford-chrysler-gm/index.html

    3. Already done... Try to catch up.

    4. Oh dear Lord, save us all.

        For the pandemic, that is.

What, specifically is his plan, other than to suggest masks everywhere and mandate them on Federal property?

Also, how does it differ, in any substantive way, from what's already in place?

Honestly, what is there to do that hasn't been done, other than to not botch things?

His website says "end widespread misinformation." Basically what he means is, "not be Donald Trump." Without a doubt he's going to declare victory on the tautological. "I'm not the Donald, and so therefore I'm not doing all the things we're accusing him of, therefore great progress has been made."

Testing availability and quick results are not as easy as made out here. I will speak of my own account but have read that testing availability varies across the country. For instance, I know of no place or places in my area where one can just drive up to a street corner and get in a car line and get swabbed. To me, that should be available everywhere! Sure, there's your CVS's and other retails but you need an appointment. And good luck getting one same day you want to test. You can call your PCP and ask for test, and again, good luck coming right in that very day. They are all swamped.
So even after your test, you get to wait upwards of 72 hours to get any results. Yeah, quarantine is what you do right after the test to be a good citizen, but what percentage of people getting tested actually do that? I bet its less than 10.

I tested 3 weeks ago after being at a function where one of the guests reported being positive the next day. And he got it bad, almost ER inpatient bad. He's still trying to get his wind back and he's a big beefy muscle man of around 45. Prison guard at Corcaran where he told tales of Covid there. 25 percent of inmates have it or had it. So I called /got online and had a devil of a time finding anything I could do that day I wanted to do it, which was 3 days after the function i attended. CVS was full booked for 2 days, and rather than scour the internet for other public options, I just decided to call my PCP and was lucky enough to come in next day, but not that day. Results 3 days later, with kind lady letting me know after taking a sample of my brain tissue through my nose, to go home and stay there until results come back.

Anyways, for me, the biggest flub of current administration was by not leading the cause in a national initiative, but instead throwing it off to the states and let them figure it all out. There should have been a bigger national effort, and truck loads of Treasury money, to get testing availability ramped up as quickly as possible so to be able to track down and control this virus. We still aren't there yet to this day. Trump wants herd immunity although he won't say it to your face.

So Biden better be making this thing, this testing thing, the priority numero uno, IMO. I will be sorely disappointed if this doesn't happen.

But, look at this article, if true, this should be the immediate plan, to get this out en masse, for free too. In home testing with immediate results. Curious to see how effective this at home kit currently is. FDA approved though. So we'll see.

The fact that you got any test at all is a miracle.

It is the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people.

You want to know when your trouble started?

being at a function where one of the guests reported being positive the next day

                        I do agree with this.

But, as I have said before, if there was a Democrat in the White House a year ago, I’m not sure the situation today would be any different than it was under President Trump.

Getting back to nobodies sock point, it has been a shortcoming of the US. I know that states rights are very important in the US, but this is one instance where an internal situation required a national response. Again, you need 100% agreement of what to do. If 49 states do one thing but one state does another, the whole plan fails.

"Treasury money"..... leftists actually think government owns the money and there's an unlimited supply of it.

                          "Free covid tests"....

I've got no problem with offering free testing to the truly poor. But if you've got enough money to stop by McDonald's for a burger, then pay for it yourself.

And I don't like "one size fits all" programs, which is what a national program is. If there had been a national testing program then my state might have been saddled with a mess like it seems California faces. According to Sock he cant find any testing, and what little there is is substandard. I can get tested within one days notice, and get the results in 15 minutes. But then... I don't sit around waiting on the government to pay for it, either.

If you can't find a test you are not looking very hard. You may have to pay out of pocket but you can get it.

                                I do agree with this.

Who was that holding a daily news conference for months last Spring? They gave updates minute by minute on every aspect of the fight against covid.

They had the best and brightest of this country contributing ideas and action every day.

Saying the current administration didn't lead in this cause is nonsense.

The politicians and scientists were there working together around the clock. And all of it was shown on live TV or on various social media.

Denying that this was done is wrong.

Anyways, for me, the biggest flub of current administration was by not leading the cause in a national initiative, but instead throwing it off to the states and let them figure it all out

It is not nonsense. It was a very mixed message coming from Washington DC.

Masks/no masks - don’t know. good people on each side

As I have say before, in the US, there is not the cultural, political, or probably legal will or ability to do the above. I am convinced that if, for example, president elect Biden were president when this started, we would be in the same situation.

But, looking back, Copper, would it have been better to completely lock down for a couple of months and keep the bubble in place, and then return to some sort of “relatively “ normal or to do what has been done over the last 9 months? Shutdown for two weeks, open at 25%, close for a week, open for a week, close for 3 weeks, etc etc. Which is better?
