D2 (who's still sick, by the way) sent me this about an hour ago. The people she's referring to are related to her boyfriend. Lisa is a speech therapist, I think:

Here's Illinois and Wisconsin (looking at cases, etc/1 million people):

Those texts are horrifying, but I imagine not at all unusual.

It feels like Thanksgiving is at the worst possible time.

            I was only joking

Funny you should mention Illinois. Wisconsin gets all the attention, looking at the data for each state doesn’t say why.

Those graphs are pretty similar to graphs of most states right now. Everywhere is spiking.

Fever? Yeah, that’s pretty much unconscionable and it would worry me about the gene pool that D2 is so close to...

But man, I could see how we deal with these types of idiots turning ugly.

                      Wow!!!

As I said in another forum thread:

To me, the biggest problem with the US response to Covid is that it is not been agreed with all the states.

If One state wants to be tough, but if every state around them is not, then it will fail.

There really needed to be a nation wide set of rules. I think that would have helped. Maybe it is not possible to do that in the US however.

And most, maybe all, can't be enforced.

Unfortunately, people won’t ever agree 100%. It seems like a virus like this, you need everybody following. 90% complying is not enough.

While not everybody will agree with the strictness of Thailand (or Taiwan), a lot of the economy is back.

Unfortunately, people won’t ever agree 100%. It seems like a virus like this, you need everybody following.

The people responsible for providing guidance lost all credibility a long time ago.

Around here, the two most popular choices seem to be to hate them or to ignore them.

I think you are right. 😔
