by the way - I think there is a Jet's Pizza in Berwyn, not too far. YO shoud check out their 8 Corner Pizza - Detroit Style (also Sicilian, but that's beside the point). Great stuff.

Deep dish, but much lighter and airier than Chicago deep dish. Delicious and reheats really well in the oven. For a $20 pizza we can sometimes get 8 meals out of it, especially if yo have a salad with it.

I don't like deep dish because it's SO heavy.
Detroit might be a good compromise!

Yeah, when I was younger I liked Uno’s, which we had two of. Last time I had one it was Giordano’s and it sat like big rock.

Just to get it out of the way, my favorite frozen pizza is Home Run Inn. I love the thin-crust sausage pizza.
But, I've heard good things about California Pizza Kitchen, so I thought I'd give it a try. I put one onto my last "Amazon Fresh" delivery last week. A thin-crust "four cheese" pizza.
Without my approval they substituted this:
I thought I'd give it a shot...
Wow! Was it horrible!

That's because it had cheddar cheese on it.
You don't put cheddar cheese on pizza.
That's almost as bad as putting pickles on pizza.
No, wait, what am I saying??? NOTHING is that bad!

It must have been at least 10 years since I ate my last frozen pizza. If I eat so many calories I want something better.

What we do is have always frozen pizza dough in the freezer.
Then take out a few hours before. Flatten. Put on mozzarella and tomato pizza sauce, cut up a few anchovies capers and hot pepper. Time prep maybe 10 min. Into the oven for 20 min
Hot on the table and beats all those frozen alternatives. A dash of olive oil on top always helps.
With beer and a side shot of whiskey. Pretty much standard sat nite fare chez bacho.

Here it's not just the calories its the sodium. The brand I used to buy (Tombstone) has 3400mg of sodium in a single pizza. Which I can eat in a sitting.
