      @Jolly still don’t understand how some of the request/requirements are not allowing people to live free?

      Its like the actions people are taking are NOT allowing people to be free.

      I would say right now, from a virus standpoint, countries like Taiwan and Thailand are much freer than the US.

        I think states will (and already are) reimposing restrictions but we won't see any kind of general 'shelter in place' orders, I don't think.

        Only non-witches get due process.

          Here in MA there's a curfew between 10pm and 5am. I guess it stops bars and night-clubs, but I can't see it making much difference overall.

          Judging by the traffic I see, a ton of people are working as normal.

          I was only joking

                Define "freedom".

                In terms of the virus, it means having all businesses open, and as important, no fear from people going to those businesses.

                I know in the US, there are some states which are saying they’re fully open, but I am guessing there is still a large percent of people who are avoiding some of those businesses due to fears in the virus.

                In Thailand for example, everything internally is full open. Restaurants, pubs, shopping mall, wedding stores, etc.

                People still wear a mask, and they do want to know your information if you go into a restaurant or pub For contact tracing purposes

                You give up some of your privacy freedom in order to have the business is open. So some people in the US who complain about conditions imposed on businesses, are the same people complain about not wanting to wear a mask, not wanting to contact trace, not wanting to social distance. Unfortunately, I’m not sure you can do it both sides.

                Now of course, Thailand extended the virus bubble over the whole country. There has not been a internal transmitted case in over 200 days.

                But getting into the country is very difficult. So there has been an economic disaster for some businesses that are related to tourism. But I think that would’ve happened even if they didn’t make it so difficult to get into the country.

                    Osterholm, who serves as director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, said earlier this week that the country is headed toward “Covid hell.” Cases are rising as more people grow tired of wearing masks and social distancing, suffering from so-called “pandemic fatigue,” he said.

                    <snip>

                    “We could pay for a package right now to cover all of the wages, lost wages for individual workers for losses to small companies to medium-sized companies or city, state, county governments. We could do all of that,” he said. “If we did that, then we could lockdown for four-to-six weeks.”

                    Osterholm was appointed to Biden’s 12-member Covid “advisory board” on Monday.

                    <snip>

                    A representative for Biden did not return CNBC’s request for comment.

                    <end>

                    CNN this morning: "Biden, it was made clear Thursday, does not share that view. "His comments were not in line with the PEOTUS view," a transition aide said."

                            But to play devil advocate, it is good to have different views in the room. You dont want just a group of "yes men" in the room to agree with everything you say. That is just as bad, maybe more bad.

                                Roll out the vaccine faster and quit the fucking drama. Give it voluntarily to everyone 80 and older. How many lives saved?

                                Oh wait we don’t care about that because too many people have an ax to grind. FFS.

                                  Wait a minute, something's screwy here. My post above was pointing out that Biden didn't agree with a guy acting as his advisor. That's not saying that Biden "said one thing and the opposite the next day." It merely says Biden disagreed with something somebody else said.

                                    Its like the actions people are taking are NOT allowing people to be free.

                                    I would say right now, from a virus standpoint, countries like Taiwan and Thailand are much freer than the US.

                                    Then go live there and stop telling Americans what to do.

                                      First, I am most definitely a self made man. The rest of the shit you wrote is 4 year old conspiracy theories even democrats stopped slinging at republicans about 3 years ago. I have never wanted to "round up people". I have never wanted to deport people based on their faith. Both of those topics are deeper than your tiny mind can process.

                                      So tell you what - shut the fuck up you little pussy. If you want to play with me, you need a functioning brain.
