A lockdown sounds like the worst idea to me at this point. Where is the data that identifies the businesses to be shut down as the cause?

I tend to agree for many businesses. Why can't restaurants stay open if they do pickup only? Hell let them deliver all night, too.

      Please love yourself.

        To me, best and easiest:

        • mask requirement
(I know this won't happen, but people need to think of society sometimes ahead of themeselves and politics)

        • social distancing
          (easy to do)

        • detailed contract tracing
(seems to be voluntary in the US, if it is done at all. And a friend was telling me that when it is done, many/most people refuse to cooperate.)

Yes, the USA remains a shining beacon.

It's sad that so many other places can only dream of freedom.

@Jolly still don’t understand how some of the request/requirements are not allowing people to live free?

Its like the actions people are taking are NOT allowing people to be free.

I would say right now, from a virus standpoint, countries like Taiwan and Thailand are much freer than the US.

I think states will (and already are) reimposing restrictions but we won't see any kind of general 'shelter in place' orders, I don't think.

Here in MA there's a curfew between 10pm and 5am. I guess it stops bars and night-clubs, but I can't see it making much difference overall.

Judging by the traffic I see, a ton of people are working as normal.

                  I was only joking

                        Define "freedom".

In terms of the virus, it means having all businesses open, and as important, no fear from people going to those businesses.

I know in the US, there are some states which are saying they’re fully open, but I am guessing there is still a large percent of people who are avoiding some of those businesses due to fears in the virus.

In Thailand for example, everything internally is full open. Restaurants, pubs, shopping mall, wedding stores, etc.

People still wear a mask, and they do want to know your information if you go into a restaurant or pub For contact tracing purposes

You give up some of your privacy freedom in order to have the business is open. So some people in the US who complain about conditions imposed on businesses, are the same people complain about not wanting to wear a mask, not wanting to contact trace, not wanting to social distance. Unfortunately, I’m not sure you can do it both sides.

Now of course, Thailand extended the virus bubble over the whole country. There has not been a internal transmitted case in over 200 days.

But getting into the country is very difficult. So there has been an economic disaster for some businesses that are related to tourism. But I think that would’ve happened even if they didn’t make it so difficult to get into the country.

CNN this morning: "Biden, it was made clear Thursday, does not share that view. "His comments were not in line with the PEOTUS view," a transition aide said."

Other newsies may have elaborated on this.

Well it's gospel then. Because everyone knows Biden would NEVER say one thing one day and the opposite the next day... and we all know that CNN is totally trustworthy...

                                  Hahahahaaaaaaaa

So did he revoke the appointment because this guy's views don't jibe with PEOTUS?

But to play devil advocate, it is good to have different views in the room. You dont want just a group of "yes men" in the room to agree with everything you say. That is just as bad, maybe more bad.

                                      Hold on

                                      Views?

                                      democrat views?

The democrats haven't done even one thing in the last 4 years that wasn't motivated by hate for Mr. Trump.

That is the only view, it is singular

There are no views, just hate Trump

Well, maybe green new deal and Hunter's new jobs

Roll out the vaccine faster and quit the fucking drama. Give it voluntarily to everyone 80 and older. How many lives saved?

Oh wait we don’t care about that because too many people have an ax to grind. FFS.

Wait a minute, something's screwy here. My post above was pointing out that Biden didn't agree with a guy acting as his advisor. That's not saying that Biden "said one thing and the opposite the next day." It merely says Biden disagreed with something somebody else said.
