Is there a family, or friends with whom you could communicate about her status?

I hope you get to see her

My daughter works in a large Emergency Department and they obviously have tough rules about visitors because of the virus

But, they have some common sense, so they will not be stupid about it if a family member should be allowed to visit.

I hope your situation has a positive resolution, but if you need to visit go look someone at the hospital in the eye and tell them.

Most places I know started allowing single family member at a time visits.

The super tight restrictions of last spring were mostly a result of PPE shortages, I suspect.

          Only non-witches get due process.

Yes, plenty of family down there.

The rule many hospitals here have:

No visitors, with two exceptions: children at the children's clinic and patients in palliative care can have one visitor per day.

              Overall, it's pretty restrictive.

First news from the hospital is a positive Covid test.

Not clear though whether this is the cause of the symptoms or merely another factor.

                  Geez...

At her age I hope it's one of the milder cases.

Thanks for the update, Klaus. Sending my wishes for a mild case and a quick recovery.

Carp - sorry to hear the diagnosis, Klaus. I hope it's a mild case and a quick rebound.

Well, the "mild case" scenario is already off the table, unfortunately.

If not "mild," then hopefully "short."
