Well they inherited it.
But as of 2020 the top 9 all earned it themselves from middle class backgrounds.
Whatever one thinks about extreme wealth, that really is a remarkable fact.

One of the remarkable things is not how Gates fared (he certainly gained) but the rise of The Bezos.
