Left your employment?
Indeed.
Have a part-time gig, though, so no employment gap. Those folks would love to hire me full-time, they said, but due to COVID the money isn't there yet. So it may turn into something full-time. Unlikely but possible.
Unbelievably, I took jon's advice. I gave notice and am helping with a transition.
My boss is going to try something a little audacious after that period. I hope it works for him.

Thanks very much, TG. It's definitely been a lesson for me. For the past 8 or 9 months, all I wanted to do was to say "fuck it" and burn as many bridges as I could. I've talked about it daily, all year. But I've been trying hard to treat people with respect and civility, despite the mountain of horseshit we've been slung.
There's a meeting people are putting together about this. They're getting together and demanding time with the CEO to talk about the screwed up shit we've been dealing with. I was honestly very surprised about that. Bolder things are happening right now, too, but I don't even feel comfortable talking about them. I think things are going to be very different there by year's end.
Peterson was right: the high road's better for everyone long-term.

Dude I was just kidding. Now call them up right now, tell them to fuck themselves, and delete all your work files.

Well, I mean, I gotta be me, too, jon. Quite obviously I'm not sharing the whole story here. The story here is about me being the good guy and how I've learned some important lessons. But I still gotta be me.

I have no idea what the hell you're talking about, but I could have predicted, with 100% accuracy, who would be the first to comment in this thread.
89th knows the score.
Basically this is a weird way of saying I quit.

Of all the things I could wish for, right now it’s a video of Aqua doing this move. It makes no sense but is soooooo appropriate for what he’d do once he quit.

Aqua, I honestly don't know how I feel about you growing up like this. On one hand, I'm happy and proud that you took the high road. But on the other, I enjoy your Aqua-ness and looked forward to hear how you would have used it on your company.
Anyway, post a video of the pantomime if you can. Would love to see it.

Good for you, Aqua! Are you feeling relieved to have made it final?

Well, like I told jon, what I've said here makes me sound like a good guy and all but I got some stuff in.
I'm not grown up at all, ask my daughter.

Honestly no. Intellectually, yeah, I know it's a relief but it's gonna take a little while for things to wind down. A whole lotta bullshit had to be put up with today, but some good stuff, too. I'll feel better after a little while I think.

It’s been quite the telling. I’d be emotionally spent for sure. The vacuum between the old world and the new world can keep one in the old world...but soon enough it will be new adventures.
