I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons of "Dexter." However, after about 3 seasons, it went off the rails, almost as though they were looking for a credible storyline.

I found the final season a huge disappointment.

Are they trying to resurrect the franchise?

(alternate title: "Hollywood has no new ideas.")

You got uninterested in the women???

Oh and my gift to you is Halt and Catch Fire on Netflix. You can thank me later. You are welcome.

Cool about Dexter! Really enjoyed that show. Good “style” to it although I agree some seasons were duds while others were terrific.

Halt and Catch Fire is good, at leas the first two seasons.

Mr Robot is still the best “directed” series I’ve ever seen. Every scene and angle is like a masterpiece in cinematography. Story is really weird, not for everyone.

Not sure what you mean by "directed."

I loved The Shield, by the way.

              Glad you did!

By “directed” I just mean the pace, angles, timing of music, long shots...heck one episode in the last season is filmed as “one long shot”. Hard to describe, but give it a chance. Very weird story, but unlike any other show I’ve seen!

Directing is great, no doubt. Story and screenplay? Not so much. It so terribly lost the plot halfway through Season 2. It's obvious they were spitballing after the first season, they lost the point. (To be fair, though, there was really little else for them to say after that.)

                Please love yourself.

Did you watch the last season (season 3?). The plot continues to get...weird. But hey, I actually enjoyed the series. Total change of pace from most shows.

I didn't get to the end of 2. It was obvious then that they had no further point to make, so I moved on to True Detective. (Yeah, it took me that long to watch it.)

                    Please love yourself.

Binged through a lot of it this weekend.

Surprisingly not bad. The first few episodes are kind of...strange (with the ghost of Dexter's sister having a conversation with him). The appearance of his son is, to say the least, awkward, but it really drives the narrative in the second half of the series.

I'd give it ¾ stars. Not spectacular, but certainly worth a binge.
