In other words, states are allowed to keep laws that ban trans people from playing in sports that don't match their birth gender.

What a world, to need a court decision to realize men should not be competing in women sports and vice versa.

I think the brouhaha about the court is overblown. They've shown themselves to be anything but monolithic, and certainly independent.

@jon-nyc The judiciary always looks magnificent once the other two branches have spent a decade eating drywall. "Only well functioning branch" may just mean it can still produce a paragraph with citations.
