I see this whole sordid affair as only to take the eye off the Epstein ball for a while.
There was much, much more to it than “only” that. In fact I would wager it was overwhelmingly a volatile combination of hubris, narcissism and foreign policy ineptitude.
Now they must quickly move to a new outrage. Batten down your hatches Cuba, the mother of all hurricanes is a coming.
I would downgrade that one to a moderate tropical storm at most. The past 35 years have worn the Cuban Revolution down to little more than a rather stale nostalgic folk tale in the minds of the Cuban people. “Time To Move On” has replaced “Viva Fidel!” for some time already.
