    Can either of you elaborate more on the linguistic nuances of these two Chinese nicknames for Trump?

    The Chinese government and state media refer to him as 'telangpu,' though he is also frequently called 'chuanpu,' a slightly alternative transliteration. 'Telangpu' is the most widely used name for the U.S. leader in mainland China. The sardonic nickname used to describe Trump, "Chuan Jianguo," implies that Trump is effectively a "patriotic son" of China, serving Beijing's interests rather than those of his own nation.

      If I'm not mistaken, these Chinese nicknames are being used since june/july 2024.
      I have to check, but I remember having read an article somewhere online
