My US passport is running out 1Q next year. Should find a good time frame to renew now. LOL
(I miss the days of being able to renew at any US embassey)
But I have heard that the new-ish online renewal is actually pretty quick. -
I just renewed mine. Did it online, took the photo on my phone. Got both the book and the card, it came much faster than I thought it would, not much more than a couple of weeks.

You'll probably want to do it again once Trump's picture is on there in all its majesty.
I'm not even eligible to get a US passport, and I'm thinking of applying.
