Hey I'm a small slice of the pie! For the check that is in the mail..
- 22% goes to someone else's social security
- 14% goes to pay interest in our debt
- 14% goes to pay health care for poor folks
- 14% goes to pay health care for old folks
- 13% goes to our national defense
So that is 77% before we even get to veterans, education, social services, transportation, and justice.
I suppose my work is part of national defense. So you are welcome for being safe.
