Hey I'm a small slice of the pie! For the check that is in the mail..

• 22% goes to someone else's social security
• 14% goes to pay interest in our debt
• 14% goes to pay health care for poor folks
• 14% goes to pay health care for old folks
• 13% goes to our national defense

So that is 77% before we even get to veterans, education, social services, transportation, and justice.

I suppose my work is part of national defense. So you are welcome for being safe.

I had an enormous federal tax bill this year due to a bunch of stock rearrangements I did in 2025. Probably ok to get those baked in obligations satisfied now rather than later. Taxes are never going down after all.
