But I'm fortunate that I feel great and have no serious health issues. Exercise and diet has a lot to do with it.

The oldest post of mine in a predecessor of this community was a post in rec.music.makers.piano from 2001.

The Old Coffee Room was one hoot of a place. It was pretty much a cancer on the Piano World Forum. Poor Frank set up the forum for some informational comradery among people buying and selling pianos and to maybe sell a couple of piano benches and he got a bunch of piano knowledgeable psychopaths constantly tearing each other new ones. I was quite a monster myself in those days. (Sigh.)

                    Wasn't it fun?

It was fun. Until election time, lol. The two offspring forums have had their share of fun too. Things feel a tad tamer lately.

Much tamer, but then we know each other far better. Many, if not most, of us have met IRL. It's a microcosm of human relations. Much harder to ascribe bad motivations to people you know.

I joined in 2005 when I was a baby at my first job out of college (man, it was almost exactly like Jim in The Office), except we sold telecom wire instead of paper, but the office size, layout, and even the boss looked just like Michael Scott. We even had a holiday party on a boat like they did in the first season!

Anyway, I was really bored at work and they had blocked chat rooms, so I was searching to find a somewhat interactive place to chat and found the old coffee room somehow. What a stroke of random luck. I started a thread about how I can debate and beat anyone or something like that and I think @tom-k said "I'm scared" thinking I was going to be a bully. Turned out I was just a young idiot. Now I'm a middle aged idiot.

Actually maybe it was Nov 2004. Either way, I recall going to Italy in April 2005 and coming back and the OCR was dead along with the Pope.

It was a pretty rough and tumble time back then.

You also had a man-crush on Sean Hannity.

Libertarian talk radio host Neal Boortz used to call Sean Hannity "Baby Jesus" because he was just so damn wonderful. (As sarcasm.)
