@jon-nyc The system is indeed marvellously efficient: price hikes travel instantly, savings are delayed indefinitely, and you still report each fill-up like a court stenographer for the House of Premium Sulking.

Fixed it for you. No need to thank me.

I find an amusing when people rate any certain governor of a state by the price of a gallon of gas in his state. And I would bet that more than half of this country operates with the similar mindset. The dumbing down of America has been going on for quite a long time and instead of fixing this core issue we simply have some geniuses build better and better AI’s to do the thinking for us now.

                    Trump claims price gouging!

                    https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/trump-instructs-doj-probe-oil-042638813.html

"The big Oil Companies are not dropping their price at the pump commensurate with the sharply lower prices they are paying for Oil. Those prices are dropping like a rock! In other words, customers are being "gouged"," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

"I have instructed the DOJ to immediately start looking into this."

I went to fill up yesterday in the next town over and my 93 octane was $5.79!!!!

I don’t fill there very often so I don’t know whether local prices have gone up 60c in a week and a half or if that station has non competitive pricing.

Petrol is still around $7.00 a gallon in the UK (£1.55/L, and diesel is 1.70)

Guess who pays the most for a gallon of gas in the whole wide world and they lead the whole world by far Hong Kong pays 15 1/2 bucks a gallon, while Venezuela pays $.13. The worldwide average is 5 1/2 bucks a gallon.

When I worked in Venezuela in the 90s, pre-Chavez, gas was under 20c. It was crazy.
