A woman who police believed was the shooter was found dead, apparently from a self-inflicted wound, police said. The motive remained unclear.

"Woman". That's one way to even the gender statistics for mass shooters.

I become a rabid science denier when I hear the ubiquitous statistic that there’s no correlation between being trans and being violent.

He murdered nine people. Seven of whom were children aged 11 to 14; two adults, one a teacher (or teacher’s aid), the other, his own mother. Two, including a 12 year old girl with 2 bullet wounds - one in the neck and the other through her brain stem and clinging to life - remain in hospital ICU in Vancouver.

I am not prepared to engage anyone in discussing the dead monster’s self image or the politics of gender reassignment. Suffice to say he was born a male human and died a male subhuman.

I am far more interested at present in how and from whom he obtained the firearms and ammunition.

Update: I understand the other wounded student is now out of ICU, fully alert and in recovery after suffering a gunshot wound to her chest during the rampage.
