Yeah I posted his baby picture a day or three after he was born.
He’s a junior so this is a decent time. He should have applications in by October or so. So this year and summer are the time for trips. He’s been to LSE, University College London in London, McGill, and Concordia in Montreal. I’m taking him to UBC Vancouver, Berkeley, UCLA, USC, and UCSD.
Next month we have an event in Boston so we’ll visit BU while we’re there. In April his mom takes him to Toronto, Michigan, Northwestern, and U Chicago. Later this year we’ll do day trips to Cornell and Penn. Might add Duke to the list not sure yet.

My no experience $0.02 worth is that the farther away a student goes to school, the less chance that they will stay there. LOL. Taiwan is not that big, but even so, there were holidays etc. where local or near local would go home, and always felt bad for those who could not and I think they felt bad also.
Also, super good news that you got your wallet back so quickly.

Yeah the Boy is lucky to have Jon as his dad. As is Lauren to have you. It’s wild to see time fly. My kids are 7-5-3 and we’re hitting full time warp stride now. Luckily we have a number of family traditions (Wisconsin Dells waterpark for spring break, Little League in May and June, neighborhood pool all summer, Cabin/Lake Trip in August, and now Florida in November…) plus some recurring events like Disney on Ice or Jurassic quest, or hot wheels monster jam. The time is flying, but I certainly have no regrets with how much time I’m able to spend.
Anyway, back to your story that is a huge headache averted, good on you for the good tip too.

Another good dad. Family traditions are great, but they have to keep changing as the kids' tastes change. You will never regret the time you spent on that, even when they decide in their early teens you are an obsolete, dim-witted dinosaur bent on ruining their lives .

Luckily that period was very brief with us, just 8th grade. Some things transpired then that made her realize we weren't as dumb as she thought.

Hasn’t happened yet for me, though in his eyes I couldn’t be less cool if I tried. But that just means it’ll hit even harder when it does.
