I'd be fascinated to know what restaurant you're comparing it to when you call it overpriced.

IHOP's OK if you want to eat a humongous breakfast, but I'd always go to a non-chain privately owned alternative if one was available.

        I was only joking

There's a place in my neighborhood that offers a two-egg any-style breakfast. When I ordered it, I was served four eggs. I asked how that happened and I was told, "Oh, that's just what we do."

They make up for it by serving minorities only one egg.

I had the steak and eggs with pancakes a couple weeks ago in KS. Good stuff and no whipped cream in sight.

Fun fact about IHOP, the pancakes are served on a tiny plate almost exactly the size of the pancakes. I've decided that this is to keep customers from pouring a huge amount of syrup on them. Though lucky IHOP, in the days of COVID, they no longer have syrup carafes at the table. Now you get an ungenerous serving of syrup in a small cup. Don't look for them to quickly return to normal on that front. I bet the all you can eat syrup at the table was a margin killer for them.

There’s no way they use real syrup. I’m sure it’s the fake stuff. But it still might add up

The supermarket shelves are filled with items labeled syrup which are not real maple syrup.

Yes, my experience is that Waffle House doesn't do a lot of cleaning.

They do at least run disinfectant through their coffee pots occasionally. I know this because they poured me a cup of it once when I ordered a cup.

Didn't the FEMA start to monitor Waffle House closing to help them determine the severe type of disaster?

I guess they are usually the last place to close, so if they are closing in a certain area, it usually means a pretty big disaster (typhoon, flood, etc)
