Not going to watch live. Maybe I’ll see the short version after he makes it up. And if he falls the net will be filled with various angles showing the tragedy.
I agree with 89, must be some autistic or Asperger type personaly disorder. Hard to relate to the complete disconnect between the objective danger and his calm tone. -
Im watching but stepping away from the TV a lot. LOL. Palms are sweating.
-
Whew!!!! That was nerve racking!!

Thanks, @bachophile ... I don't have the patience to watch all 91+ minutes of it, so I am grateful that you shared the 10-minute time-lapsed video.

I dont know if it was intentional (but suspect that Netflix did do it intentional), but the word "Taiwan" (or country) was never mentioned once in the broadcast. (at least I dont think so)
However, it was good promotion for Taipei, and hopefully most people know that Taipei is in Taiwan. LOL
-
True, but they didnt mention either, as far as I remember. LOL

And the current Taiwan government is de-emphasizing the Republic of China name a bit. Above is my old and current "Taiwan" passport.

That doesn't seem like a particularly useful trait from an evolutionary perspective. I guess it might help with impregnating some really frightening women.

The idea that he got to the top of that building using mostly his arms faster than most people would by taking the stairs is...crazy. Luckily I knew he didn't die before I watched it on delay last night but still, sweaty palms for sure. I'm a big Alex fan, but am a little critical about how casual he is about the impact of his death towards his wife/kids (in the article he said his kids wouldn't really remember him so it wasn't as big of a deal or something). If I were a single dude I would be happy to comfort his wife though, she's a cutie (and a good climber too, I think?).
Finally, how he can stand near the edge (or on the top) and not get vertigo or dizzy or have the desire to crouch down, makes me think the MRI finding above is pretty accurate. No fear.

Presumably there aren't many people with that trait.
