Merry Christmas!

Wishing all of you a most blessed Christmas Day!
This moment right now is quite probably my favorite moment every year. The tree is decorated, the presents are wrapped, and the pile is pleasantly larger than I worried that it would be… Right now, I am sitting here with a drink in my hand, a cat sleeping on my lap, and Guaraldi playing on the Sonos. Lights are low except for the tree, and I sit and reflect on the challenges and the successes of the past year. I give a little thought to what lies ahead for next year, while also indulging in a LOT of nostalgia for years past. Karla calls it my Clark Griswold in the attic time… Over the next half hour I’ll start to alternate from Guaraldi to some of my favorites from when I was a child. There was a local radio station that played all of the standard Christmas far,e but would also toss in things like the radio show Dragnet Christmas Radio Show -

Reading me getting all nostalgic, you would think I wasn’t still nursing my first glass of Chimay…

Merry Christmas. Drinking coffee and listening to various Christmas short stories and tales from the late Stuart McLean’s Vinyl Cafe. Hilarious.
Here’s a good one:

Merry Christmas everyone.
Had lunch - baked Bree in puff pastry. Am about to watch something on TV in peace and quiet.
The inlaws arrive tomorrow, which is actually a lot better than it sounds.

Merry Christmas to everyone.
Day just ending here, watched the latest Daniel Craig detective movie on netflix; lovely to have both daughters around.
We're all still full of a super lunch. Mrs A cooked goose, Gammon, pigs in blankets, chestnut stuffing. And roasted veg potatoes/parsnips/carrots. I do love roast parsnips. And then desert of Pannacotta, berry cheesecake, tiramisu, creme brulee.
Bit of an old fashioned Christmas, talked, given presents, long lunch, socialised all day.
