Wishing all of you a most blessed Christmas Day!

This moment right now is quite probably my favorite moment every year. The tree is decorated, the presents are wrapped, and the pile is pleasantly larger than I worried that it would be… Right now, I am sitting here with a drink in my hand, a cat sleeping on my lap, and Guaraldi playing on the Sonos. Lights are low except for the tree, and I sit and reflect on the challenges and the successes of the past year. I give a little thought to what lies ahead for next year, while also indulging in a LOT of nostalgia for years past. Karla calls it my Clark Griswold in the attic time… Over the next half hour I’ll start to alternate from Guaraldi to some of my favorites from when I was a child. There was a local radio station that played all of the standard Christmas far,e but would also toss in things like the radio show Dragnet Christmas Radio Show -

At 9 every Christmas Eve they would also play the Lionel Barrymore - Orson Wells production of A Christmas Carol

And every commercial break, they would actually have one spot that would be a message from a local resident serving in the military overseas for their family and friends. A full 30 second spot…

Reading me getting all nostalgic, you would think I wasn’t still nursing my first glass of Chimay…
