Comic Sans should be the only font.

The end of the article is written in a way that makes me think it was written by AI:

Trump, a Republican, moved quickly after taking office in January to eradicate federal diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs and discourage them in the private sector and education, including by directing the firing of diversity officers at federal agencies and pulling grant funding for a wide range of programs.

DEI policies became more widespread after nationwide protests in 2020 against police killings of unarmed Black people, spurring a conservative backlash. Trump and other critics of diversity initiatives say they are discriminatory against white people and men and have eroded merit-based decision making.

Sans serif is easier to read, but I also do get the point that Times New Roman brings a certain level of professionalism and tradition to state department documents.

Before 2004, the State Department used the Courier font.

Why don't they use the 'We The People' font?

            Maybe it's too gay?

            I was only joking

              My preferred font is Arial.

God save us from bureaucrats with too little to do.

Tell me again why the font change was wasteful?

It would be interesting to see a ranking of major fonts by efficiency- phonemes per microgram of ink.

                  Actually not really.

I was thinking about this. Where/who did this idea come from? I'm sure Rubio didn't have this on his bingo card when he agreed to be secretary of state. I'm just trying to visualize how some of this Administration's dumber moves actually come about... it's almost like they have an SNL sketch writing room where ideas are thrown onto the wall and they see which ones will stick.

Visualize this (h/t @wtg, also involves Rubio's department):

Feds bring woman to US to face charges, then say she’s here illegally [and wants to deport her before she's tried]
