        John McWhorter, the Columbia linguist who is also an official Black Guy, makes a distinction between use and reference when it comes to the ā€˜n’ word.

        It seems obvious that the latter should go unpunished in all cases.

          Zero tolerance is the worst policy idea ever, at least in school behavior. It breeds idiocy exactly like this, eliminating all rational judgment.
