Fool me once...

I put down a chipotle burrito about once every two months and my only complaint is to the girl not putting enough meat in the burrito. Sorry you had bad experience, but your wife is right, DON"T EAT ARBY's!! IT'S NOT WORTH IT MIK! YOU HAVE SO MANY THAT LOVE YOU, DON'T DO THIS TO YOURSELF, THINK OF THEM! Here is a phone number to call, these people are much better than I to help you off this ledge. 1-800-273-TALK.
Awww nuts, I tried the number just now to make sure I got it right. I did, but DOGE axed it long ago. Maybe it's time for my own Arby's run. Sigh....

Speaking of fast food, my son and I ate at a place called 'Melt Shop' at the mall. He had a chicken sandwich melt, I had a cheeseburger. Two orders of tater tots, two waters.
Fifty one dollars.
This is fast food. You order at the counter and the food comes to you in cardboard boxes like a big Mac.
How do middle class people do this shit?

I regularly take advantages of deals and discounts offered in the McDonald's mobile app. In the old days I used paper coupons but since COVID "no contact" becomes the new normal for fast food restaurants and I transitioned to mobile app deals and discounts around that time.

Because it provides good enough nutrition at low enough costs.
$50 isn't a low enough cost for two people. You can get a decent meal for that.

We had Wendy's Saturday long before the Chipotle. It was tasty. Fast food has its place, just not as a steady diet.

I would likely blame the Wendy’s for your distress over the Chipotle.

The burger place @jon-nyc went to isn’t really fast food, it’s casual. Some of these burger places are pretty pricey,

Not a chance.

$51 is about average for two burgers ($16), tots($5) and waters ($3 a pop) for a not really fast food place. I paid $29 for three Wendy's combos, $32 for two Chipotle bowls, chips and guac. But any time we go to a sit down restaurant lunch for two is about $50.

Chipotle, which I never eat, has been running frequent commercials for their new carne asada and red chimichurri. They looked really tasty, so last night at the end of a road trip we stopped at the local Chipotle to get some.
I have never in my life experienced the kind of heartburn where it hurts behind your breastbone. I've had reflux stuff, but not for the last 30 years or so. I have a digestive tract that is the envy of goats everywhere. Indians and Thais think we are crazy for how hot my daughter and I like things. Never a peep out of the tummy.
It was awful. thankfully a Tums fixed it, but it was quite surprising.
I told Janet that the Arby's commercials for steak nuggets looked pretty good, to which she replied, "You didn't learn your lesson last night?".
She has a point.

I had Chipotle last night, tried the chimichurri... not sure what to expect, but definitely "meh". Felt like it was a cup of olive oil with mushed red pepper flakes in it or something. I enjoy their chips mostly, but like most fast food I feel like crap afterwards.
@jon-nyc yeah my mind is stuck on 2005 prices. I honestly think there's a $5 footlong deal at Subway and a dollar menu at McDs. Heck... even the local "Dollar Store", everything is between $1.25 and $5. But to answer your question... if you are on a budget, including middle class, you really shouldn't be buying fast food often. The prices are insane... I guess you can say the same thing these days about the movies, or toll roads, or concerts... everything just costs so much.

That's not a middle class attitude as much as middle-aged.
Sorry.
And welcome.

Ugh, you spendthrift! The McDonald's here has a deal with local sports teams where, on the day a local team wins a game, McDonald's would offer a "free" BigMac with a $2 purchase. So, taking advantage of that deal, I have bought a McDonald's "Daily Double" for under $4 (itself a "McValue" item), and get a Big Mac too. That's two double-pattied burgers for under $4.

And don't even get me started on ice cream truck prices! $6 wtf!!!!!!! Ok, guess it's nice to live in a neighborhood where the ice cream truck still comes through.

They're probably selling crack.
