If I remember correctly, and I'm pretty sure I do, you're the guy who said that Tucker Carlson was good people. And that motherfucker ended up advertising Russian grocery stores.
I don't mind that he went to Russia, but many of his other recent talking points have been crazy. I would no longer feel like saying anything generally positive about him, if his recent output was all I knew. At the time I said that, it's what I felt. I guess I could take the safer tack of never saying anything positive about anybody, but then I would betray a fear of being dunked on in this insipid manner that unfortunately pervades this forum, where everybody takes personal responsibility for the actions and opinions of any public figure they've ever supported. Dunkaholics anonymous.
I think it's ok to develop new opinions over time, based on new information. I actually appreciate it when people do so, as long as I trust their motivations.

I was envisioning him being exposed to his party’s stance on Russia in 2025 for this thought experiment, not just seeing a single photo with no context.
After all, he wouldn’t recognize this woman who was probably in elementary school when he lost his marbles.

If Reagan were in charge, how do you suppose he'd have handled the Ukraine war? Since we're speaking of thought experiments.
Education is extremely important.

Not much different than would have John McCain in 2014 if were then in charge instead of Obama.

I think non-interventionist politics were coming, one way or another. I'm not against thought experiments in general, and McCain vs Obama is an easy one to judge. Transposing a Reagan admin into today's culture is more wildly fantastical.

I think non-interventionist politics were coming, one way or another. I'm not against thought experiments in general, and McCain vs Obama is an easy one to judge. Transposing a Reagan admin into today's culture is more wildly fantastical.
