You have to hate who we hate all the way. No variation of this is tolerated.

Kirk, both a vocal proponent of Christian faith and opponent of LGBTQ rights,

That’s complete and utter bullshit, USA Today.

USA Today isn’t the one trading in hate. They just provide the dishonest messaging that gives their readership license to hate.

Oh … when I saw the title I thought you’re going to talk about the Pentagon’s new requirement for journalists to pledge to use only “authorized information” or lose their press credentials. 😓

Omg a whataboutism. This forum has a deep and totally coherent principle against those.

No, they are the road to being told to go stand in the corner for spewing coffee and doughnut shop gossip into a debate.

Is it? He was against gay marriage and gender affirming care for trans, I believe.

                  I think that would qualify.

What bothers me is when they say ‘against trans rights’ to describe people against medical transition of children or proscribing biological males from female sports, prisons, etc where there is clearly a counter-right being violated.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I suspect he was for legal arrangements identical to marriage for gay people, while the word marriage was kept to apply to men and women. Culture wars often boil down to naming rights.

Long argument or short? I’ll try to keep it short for now. Here’s a broad outline and I will be happy to debate these issues one at a time if you would like, but.

                      1. No such thing as LGBTQ Rights.

                      2. Believing one thing personally does not necessitate your civic responses. Render unto, right? Kirk personally believed in biblical marriage and that homosexuality was a sin. He expressed his beliefs while also working with and promoting politicians and public figures that are openly gay, and supportive of gay marriage. Describing him as being against gay marriage is a gross mischaracterization of a much more complex issue and lends itself to very dangerous characterizations.

                      3. GAC?! Do you seriously want to even go down that road?

Not even sure what we are debating here. I’m against gay marriage and other “rights” generally associated with the LGBT culture, I’d imagine very similar to how Kirk opposed it too. That being said, I’d imagine one reason he was shot was because of his anti-trans arguments, since the shooter was a trans-loving gay man himself, so I agree that gross characterizations are dangerous.
