Unbelievable. It's a remark only the most callous would make even in a private jest. The worst part of it is it will be with us as yet another unnecessary inflammation in our already overheated political climate.

A very odd remark, I was trying to find the full clip so I could see if there was any context at all added afterwards. I make some off color jokes with my friends all the time, I wouldn't even say what he said (nor is it even funny), so bizarre.

Maybe he's just trying to provide balance. After all, if there's one minority group that has escaped any kind of ridicule, hatred and disdain, it's the mentally ill.

His remarks do seem to lead down a very dangerous slippery slope - physically disabled, dementia patients, etc., but he didn't criticize a sacred member of the tribe so he should be ok.

I'm sure Jesus would be good with that. Those guys will forgive anything if you're sorry afterwards. It's part of what makes being a Christian so great.
