As I sent George his daily Dick pic, it occurred to me that Dick Butkus might have the worst sounding name, ever… Whaat names (of real people) are worse?

I went to school with twins named William and David Dickgraber. (Pronounced with long A).

I remember when they first showed up in gym class and coach was laughing and said ‘is there a Bill and Dave Dickgrabber here?’ Surprisingly, that made all the jr high boys laugh.

A few years back I tried to see what became of them. One was an attorney in the Philadelphia area. I couldn’t find the other, maybe he was smart enough to change his name.

I don’t know, but the ultimate level of hell is reserved for parents who give their children awkward names.

My dad would tell of a colleague named Fuk Yu. But I suppose his parents get a pass. Unless it’s a sin not to understand English. Which it is.

            Education is extremely important.

I knew a guy named Guido. And he was one, of course.

I was shocked when he got married and didn’t take his wife’s name. It was even Italian.

When I was telefundraising, you would get into a rhythm of putting the number in, then looking at the name if somebody was actually answering. One time, somebody started answering the phone, and I glanced at the name. Jodi Fucques… I hold back the laugh and manage to be mature enough to say “Good Afternoon, Ms. Fūcques (long u). She immediately interrupts “No, that’s Fucks” (phonetically) I lost it then and just hung up.

Yeah, you were Fucqued at that point.

Funny thread. I knew a girl who married into (took the last name of) Slutski.

I had middle school teachers with these names:

                    Ms Boney
                    Mr Dam
                    Mr Pitts
                    Ms Bottoms
