Yeah. They use the term like it's a bad thing.

I’ve wondered about the etymology of that phrase. The only thing that I can come up with is it originally was an Oedipal thing, like you had sex with your own mother. That’s the only insulting way I can interpret it.

I took my boy on his first interstate driving trip. We went into NJ just to say we did, turned around and went through Westchester into CT. Lunch in downtown Greenwich. Just got home. He logged ~2hrs driving.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

If I may suggest some good drives:

Rt. 9. (the one one the east side of the Hudson.) Great scenic tour through Hyde Park and Rhinebeck up to Hudson very pretty a couple of hours from the City (which I assume is your starting point.)

Rt. 9W. over the GWB and up through Harriman State Park, Tuxedo Park and maybe up to Saugerties/Woodstock. You can also start on the east side and go over the Bear Mt. Bridge. (You should drive the pre bridge and bridge part.) Interesting drive.

Connecticut. Get the boy through NYC and early CT and can take Rt. 7 up through Ridgefield and New Milford and maybe over to Sherman and Kent. If you go right on 202 in New Milford you can head up to Litchfield. Beautiful rides.

I just did these rides a month and a half or so ago. The wife is looking for a summer house--not that we will actually do it, but it's fun to look, and BEAUTIFUL and interesting drives.

Yea, that's the: "Sprung from cages on Highway 9
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected, and steppin' out over the line"
stretch of Highway 9. (OK, maybe a bit north of that. Same road though.)

For whatever reasons, up in the NY/NJ area it's ALL Highway 9.

                    And, just suggesting. 😊

Took the kiddos fishing and an airport open house. Grilled some nice angus/brisket burgers last night, very tasty...but man the fat dripping loves to flame up the grill!

Wearing a hat. And that move putting his kid from his back to his board was smooth.
