To my point about lack of trust in public health…

The loss of trust I somewhat understand. However, I'm finding the idea that RFK Jnr. is going to increase confidence a little hard to get my head around.
Normally when we say they've put the lunatics in charge of the asylum, we mean it figuratively. Not any more.

That' idea is SO 20th century.

I'm not convinced that I'd describe RFK Jnr. and Donald Trump for that matter as modern thinkers. Kennedy is stuck in the freaking dark ages, and Trump thinks America's best years were in the Victorian era.

What’s hard for me to wrap my head around is all the work they force on this poor little word “they”.
“They lied about this ergo they’re probably lying about that”.
It seems so expansive. Like ‘they’ is anyone who’s not me. Or more realistically, anyone with any role in any institution anywhere.
I’m reminded of that video from the other day of that afghani (or whatever he was) that got shot.
It’s like the hippies talking about ‘the man’.
(Yes I realize this is just comedy, I’m referring to the underlying sentiments he’s tapping and that LD is referencing)

I didn't listen to Rogan's standup because I don't like bad comedy, but if "they" are ubiquitous and powerful enough to jam down the throats of the culture the notion that it's ok for large corporations to fire anybody who doesn't consent to the vaccine, and if that idea was not cut and dried at the time, and in retrospect seems like a jaw dropping overreach, I guess I will forgive anybody for referring to "they", as if we all understand who "they" are, even if it's not a list of names somewhere.

'They' is very Glenn Beck.

Hate to break the news to you, I know this is news because I am smart and thought of this before anyone, but society is made up of individuals. Thousands, some even say billions. We're one big bell curve. There will always be outliers...some think the earth is flat, some think there's T3H B4RGE!!!1, some love conspiracy theories... hey they are kind of fun to think about, and if you're in a spot in life where it explains hardship by blaming something else, so be it. Society has always had these faith/blind believers against forces of power.
Throw a worldwide epidemic that killed 7 million people (including half a million in the USA in the first year)... that'll get a few more folks talking about "they".
