    $3.6 billion, over a million hours of design work. That's the number that is surprising to me. And it doesn't even tear down the existing bridge.

      Makes you wonder. Is it stricter safety requirements? I always think of the Empire State Building that was built in 13 months and $600 million (in today's dollars). Then again, 5 workers died building it.

        And only took 7 years to build the Roman Colloseum!

        (Probably more then 5 people died building it however. LOL)
