Hard Nope: employment edition

@Axtremus Not all of them. I know someone who is a fitter. His tailor is almost rich

I've had a lot of friends work offshore in the gulf, some as underwater welders, others on the rigs or supply boats. Tough life, dangerous. It could only be worse in the North Sea.

In the 90's I spent a week working on a rig in the north sea, doing on-site testing a fair way east of the Shetland Islands. I have no wish to repeat the experience, although it was definitely something that was good to do once.

Knew a guy who was an underwater welder. There is a funny story from him. He was doing a job off the coast of Texas. Not too deep and the water was pretty warm, so he did not have any swimming wetsuit, etc.
Visibility was almost zero, but he said he could feel hundreds of tiny crabs crawling around on him as he welded.
