    https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/20250514-destination-dupes-where-to-go-instead-of-the-us

Supposedly promoted by changed U.S. policies and sentiment towards the USA, the BBC put together a list of alternatives for international travelers who love certain vibes of the USA:

Toronto instead of New York City.
Cape Town instead of San Francisco.
    Argentina for "cowboy culture."
Tara River Gorge in Montenegro instead of the Grand Canyon.
    Macau instead of Las Vegas.

    Etc.

Ah, Macau. I was in Macau once.

What happens in Macau stays in Macau.

I've always been a bit curious to visit Argentina. My impression is it's a bit similar to the western half of the US... coast, cities, but lots of land, mountains, cattle... and of course a bit more soccer.

Buenos Aires is lovely. Never visited the Pampas. I think I’ve only been to BA, Mar del Plata, and Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego

I've been to Toronto a lot. I think you might be a bit disappointed if you went there as a replacement for NYC, unless you just want to meet really obnoxious locals.

            I was only joking
