We had a neighbor family move in about a year ago, they had a girl (7) almost the same age as my daughter (6). The neighbor girl is really sweet and my daughter and her got a long great from the start. Only two houses away. Even though they moved here a year ago, the mom in the family just got a job that's going to require a relocation again, out of state. Heartbreaking to watch my daughter learn of the news. I know in a few months the neighbor girl will slowly fade from memory but right now it's tough for her to accept...one of life's first big lessons, that friendships may unexpectedly end.

Yeah she would walk my daughter home from the bus, hug every day after school. Most days before dinner she'd come over (we usually hang out in the front yard or driveway when it's nice out) and they'd yell each other's names. Very sweet indeed.

My daughter asked "are we ever going to see her again?" to which of course I lied.

We moved three times in my childhood. Each time my excitement for the new place totally exceeded my sadness at leaving people behind. The opposite was true for my sisters.

We have the same problem as adults. Whenever we get close to another couple we both like they move away.

It will be a good lesson in sharing, when they have to split up all their pencils 50/50.

              Education is extremely important.

I still remember the two best friends I had when I was about 7 who moved away, never to be seen again. We were inseparable, except of course we weren't.

                  I was only joking
