But come on.
Trump said he's fine with deporting American citizens that have committed crimes.
Trump said he wants to remove CBS' broadcast license because he didn't like a story they did on Zelenskyy.
What world are we living in?

He says these things because he thinks the not so veiled threat makes what he's actually doing look better.

Yeah I suppose. It's lots of chaos grenades that masks actual actions. Still, there's a chance (as we've seen) he's more than just talk, and further...what a horrible example for kids.

Yeah, my biggest concern with this type of governing is the guys that think he’s serious and say”sure! Great idea!”

It sometimes feel like The Monster Raving Loony Party got in, but nobody's realised it's supposed to be satire.

I'm so disappointed. From what I saw I really thought he'd be more presidential this time around. I approve of most of the goals, but not how it's being gone about. The GOP is going to get slaughtered in 2026 if they don't rein him in.

At this point so far, everybody is too afraid to and no one will stand up to say anything.
President Trump is still somewhat idolized by the voters who vote in the primary, and that does not "translate" well to the regular election. (I think that the Republics should have done much better in the 2024 non-president election than they did.)
But, the candidates know they have to get through the primary first, so dont want to risk any confrontation with President Trump.
I would not expect anything to happen among the Republics standing up to him until after the 2026 election, when they know that President Trump is on his last two years, and will not be as big a "persona" in the 2028 election.

By which point they will be largely irrelevant anyway.

Trump is Trump.
He is a chaos agent that brings change.
I knew that when I voted for him.

Me too. But there are degrees of chaos and harm to others.

He actually instructed Bondi to look into the legality of sending US citizens to a Salvadoran gulag. But only for ‘the really bad people’. One presumes he means Leticia James and Liz Cheney.

Interesting. Doesn't that make you some sort of ultra-progressive. We don't just want to burn this thing down and change - we want completely unpredictable random change! Anything is better than this hellhole.

Just sit back and watch the rich & powerful piss on everyone.
Manipulation was ever thus, just not blatently, worldwide, and reported real time. How many billions did the bumchums of Trump(CF) make in the last stockmarket twist?
Their lips must be chafed with so much arselicking -

Put this all in context with the guy Maher had dinner with… One of the two is an act… My guess is it’s the guy making all the over the top claims and just keeps coming up with more and more incendiary ideas…

Throughout my career, I've always found opportunity in chaos.
