I would think that you would be aware of it as you have very close experience with COVID. For me, the issue with people not wearing masks, staying away from others, is that their actions not only affect themselves, but also can affect others.
I am sure that everyone would think it was crazy if I said that I was going to drive through a school zone at 100 kph. I know the risks, but I am a good driver, so why should it be a problem? Because, my actions can affect others.
(BTW, it is President Trumps fault. If he (or his aides) said that people would not be allowed in with out a mask, and if they took it off inside, they would be asked to leave. Airline companies are doing it and people I have talked to who have been on flights say that it is 100% compliance. Everybody wears a mask.)

If someone was saying that the only way to protect others was to cut off an arm, I would agree that it is asking a bit too much.
BUT IT IS JUST ASKING SOMEONE TO WEAR A MASK!!!!
As I said before, I would have more respect for those people who complain that their "rights are being taken away" by being asked to wear a mask IF they told me that while naked.
If they are so concerned about being forced to wear a mask, why stop there? How about shirts? Pants? Shoes? etc etc

It's obvious you weren't raised an American. Americans are born with a strong rebellious streak against anybody telling them what to do.
Asking is fine. Compliance is a whole 'nuther matter.
Trump's campaign asked. They even provided masks. The people who didn't wear them made a conscious and informed decision not to.

I bet most of these anti-maskers wear seat belts when they drive, without complaining. Yet, seat belts only serve to protect the wearer, as compared to masks that serve to protect the wearer and everyone else around. Oh and newsflash, masks and seat belts aren't covered in the Constitution, so this "rights" argument is just as bad as BLM claiming the first amendment allows them to block traffic.

People who don't wear masks at public gatherings aren't rebels. It's other people they're putting at risk. The word isn't rebel, it's asshole.

Are you aware that Trump had THREE DIFFERENT OUTDOOR VENUES selected but the democrat governor of the state REFUSED to approve ANY of them, and the reason they were in an indoor facility in the first place was because the democrat governor forced them to have no other choice?

AAAAAND, TRUMP WAS NOT WEARING A MASK.Thanks. This was the most important issue, I just didn't notice it earlier. Unforgivable, he obviously would lead this country into a maskless wasteland, and our very existence would cease. All that would be left would be millions and millions of unused masks.
I came so darn close to making a colossal mistake.

As far as I can tell, this is FAKE NEWS, you should be ashamed of spreading it, unless you can provide evidence that Sisolak "refused to approve...and forced the rally indoors".
- The governor doesn't "approve" the venues
- The governor had nothing to do with those outdoor venues "canceling"
- The outdoor venues "canceled" (did not host) the outdoor events because of the existing mandate against groups with more than 50 people gathering
- The indoor venue at which the Monday event was held, ended up being fined $3,000 for violating the current state mandates
On the flip side, I think it's absolutely ridiculous these events are not allowed and fined when its a political rally, but it's OK when it's a BLM protest.
