So, was Goldshit added on purpose?

From a high level defense official.
“It is safe to say that anybody in uniform would be court martialed for this,” the official said. “We don’t provide that level of information on unclassified systems, in order to protect the lives and safety of the servicemembers carrying out these strikes. If we did, it would be wholly irresponsible. My most junior analysts know not to do this.”
-
A couple takeaways:
- Can you imagine if you suddenly got a "Mike Waltz has added you to this chat"? I can see why the first thought was "is this a trap?"
- Mike likes to say "Pls" instead of "Please" and "Thx" instead of "Thanks. I was hoping for a kthxbai
- Mike claiming he didn't add Goldberg is laughable. He was added and then spoke in the first person. It was him typing.
- Mike references "in our first PC" which indicates this is not the first small group PC (private chat?) they've had
- Hegseth doesn't "classify" the team update section, but clearly (anyone in DOD/Intel) knows that type of content is classified at least at the SECRET level, if not TS/SCI.
- I chuckled at Hegseth's "We are currently clean on OPSEC" (which means adversaries don't know this is coming), and oh man Goldberg should've chimed in at that point "wrong number who dis"

I'm not following this one. What are you describing and what does it prove? My vague impression is that one of Walz's staffers added Goldberg accidentally. Is this clearly not the case?

Yes it's obvious that this would be a very big personal deal for any underling who did an identical thing with their own foreknowledge of a battle action.

Maybe somebody added the nickname 'Golfshit' or "Goldfinger' or possibly even 'Goldenshower', hoping to include The World's Greatest Living American, and once again things spiraled out of control?

Prior to him being added to the chat, he was ‘friended’ by Walz. Or whatever the verb is in Signal.

Obvious cope is obvious.
I’ll bet there isn’t a single uniformed officer in the entire defense apparatus that doesn’t know the above quote to be 100.0% true. And literally all of them know that they’d be fucked if they said it to a reporter on the record.

Horse feathers.
The closest thing you ever got to the military was probably in South America.

You’re asking Jon that question?
Allow me then to ask you…
So what was your service record? Reg Force? Reservist? State militia ( or whatever Yankees call it)?
Kitchen patrol in a scout troop?
I think you’re just a big talker.

How about someone a little closer?
Representative Don Bacon (R-NE) is a Brigadier General, USAF, retired.
"The White House is in denial that this was not classified or sensitive data. They should just own up to it and preserve credibility."

Has anyone asked Pete why he said "no one was texting war plans" when clearly they were? Sorry, clearly HE was the one texting it out to a group chat?

Given all the denial on such a black and white situation - how do you take anything these guys say seriously?
-

The worst part of it is we know they’re all lying and they know we know they’re all lying. And they still do it.
Teddy Roosevelt said that the capacity to do that was the worst aspect of the Russian character.

That's why I give so much grief here over the Trump lies. If he says 36,000 americans died building the panama canal, but it was 350, how can I trust any number he gives out?

Tortured definitions are nothing new to anybody, and especially not in politics. Tulsi had a statement this morning before a committee on foreign threats (again not convened for this matter, but she addressed the elephant in the room). These are the talking points after a day to mull everything over. Explicit lies? Probably not, just tortured definitions.
