Watch for the pivot

Okay, Trump’s favorability ratings have finally flipped. He is still getting 47-48, but the unfavorable scores are 50-52.
Time to watch for some of the pivots…

It's only been 2 months.
it does seem quite a bit longer, admittedly.

His poll numbers are still being framed in right-leaning media as all-time great numbers, for this long into a presidency. That might even be accurate from certain perspectives. I'm not sure he'll be motivated to pivot.

Not yet at least. If the numbers keep slipping he'll have to do something.

If he's ever been honest about anything, it's his obsession over ratings. I'm not sure the unfavorable rating has moved enough to make him care, but a few more months of "have you said thinks once?" stock market tanking and an increasing unfavorable rating, and I think you're right @LuFins-Dad .
The reception of tariffs (taxes) on the American people, Veterans cuts, Canadian annexation talk, and chaos with DOGE cuts are pretty loudly being rejected at GOP townhalls across the country (just do a quick youtube search). I am guessing eventually he'll shift on tariffs then take credit for the stock market coming back, and might stumble into some sort of Ukraine war resolution that he'll claim 4D chess credit for, and he'll be sitting pretty good at the SOTU in 2-3 years.

It is like that joke (which i remember not too well).
Two company departments played a match with each other. Lets say it was "engineers" and "accounting". The engineers won.
In the company newsletter, there were two stories. The headlines were:
-
"Engineers finish season undefeated!"
-
"Accounting goes through the season with only one loss!"

It’s a personal record. I read that, as of his SOTU speech, he had the second lowest net approval of any modern president, with he himself having been lower in his first term.
