The only state where student literacy has risen since pandemic.

They did 3 key things I’ve heard:
- passed 2021 law requiring literacy training for teachers
- emphasized phonics in districts
- empowered teachers to hold students back who aren’t passing literacy tests
(Joke) Also Louisiana was at 0% so they only had one direction to go

One of the things I have hear about US schools is that they do a lot of "social promotion". So, someone will get promoted to the next grade level even if they really didn't meet the standard.
