So what?
I watched a few minutes. They had some LA firefighters tell jokes, that was ok.
Dune 2 won a couple awards.
I don't recognize most of the people or most of the movies.
I liked it better when you knew most of the people and movies.

Good for Adrien Brody, best actor winner. I noticed his roles went from serious to non-serious after his initial success with The Pianist. Now he's back to serious.

Conan had a good opening monologue, I thought... especially the one about the publicist for the trans dude who tweeted stuff (he was in that weird Emelia movie).
There are a few movies I'd like to see like the Brutalist and A Complete Unknown (I don't think James Mangold gets enough credit, although he was nominated for best director).

Brody is an excellent actor. But I found his "Stop playing the music, I've done this before so let me run over time for my speech" more than a little off-putting.
I don't do well with "The ruled don't apply to ME."
Culkin was fun and charming.

Yeah he's having quite the year. I want to see that movie too. I'm about 30% of my way through Succession and he certainly makes that show worth watching, among other characters.

Culkin is great in Succession.
BTW: During the "In Memoriam" segment, did anyone notice that Shannen Doherty wasn't mentioned?

I mean, I didn't actually watch the broadcast. I just read a list of winners.
I am heterosexual.

Yeah, Brody overstayed his welcome. I might not have minded if he had anything remotely interesting to say.
I do want to see The Brutalist though.
Oh, and according to the actress winner from Anora, the next group we need to elevate to normalcy is sex workers. FFS.

He was good in the Brutalist. I just watched it last nights, yes plural... it's like 3.5 hours long or something so it took me 3 nights. My thoughts, no plot spoilers though:
