It's interesting to think how long he's been in power. I think Iran has had 4 leaders in 100+ years. I don't know of another country with that track record.

China is close with 5, but only after the last 80 years. Mao, Deng, Jiang, Hu, Xi

Starmer is an embarrassment at times because of his legalistic training and outlook. He's probably the polar opposite of Trump.
But his advisors will have told him he has to maintain our relations with the US, will have reminded him of all the illegal activities of Iran every year on our soil.
Thankfully for Starmer our RAF base on Cyprus has been attacked so all his gibberish about defense becomes true. He can justify the US using the two airbases in the UK and that in Diego Garcia.
