Australia tried that but gave it up after realizing it just became a money-laundering scheme for the world’s worst regimes.

Darn, I was looking forward to welcoming more rich people into the USA.

Reminds me of the $100,000 you could pay to become a citizen of Dominica (small island in Caribbean).

The UK had a 'golden visa' program, which apparently led to a bunch of Russian oligarchs moving in. It was cancelled in 2022.

Who knew this movie was so prophetic?

BTW... imagine this happening 2 years ago when "republicans" still believed that immigrants should follow the legal process like everyone else, work hard, stay out of trouble, earn the citizenship... The outcry would be "Biden crime family immigration boss Hunter is doing this as a favor for all of his rich foreign friends in China!"

@89th I think it's standard for countries to prioritize wealthy immigrants. And it makes perfect sense. You want new people in your country to be able to pay for themselves and the services they consume.

                  Education is extremely important.

Everyone should follow the same immigration process. We don't even need $5 million. Remember, we incur $1,000,000,000 (ONE BILLLLLION DOLLARS....) every 24 hours on interest to the national debt.

The "Gold Card" will replace the EB-5 visa. The EB-5 was created in 1990 by Congress. The Gold Card will mandate five to ten times the money required by the EB-5...

                      https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/permanent-workers/eb-5-immigrant-investor-program

The Gold Card will differ from the EB-5, in that it will contain a path to citizenship. I don't know if it will have an investment component. I hope it does.
