Looks Like We Gotta Deal

On Minerals from Ukraine.
Hopefully it works out for both sides.
-
Thank God for Biden and his peacemaking ability!
Oops! He died a couple of years ago, didn't he?
-
What is new about this? President Zelenskyy has been saying for a long time that countries that help Ukraine will have the ability to their minerals.

Talk is cheap.
Who else has cut a deal?

It’s a mining concession in the form of an assignment of natural resource receivables. Nothing more should be read into it. Going forward, Ukraine might or might not be considered a US vital interest and thereby continue to enjoy and have access to US arms.
Doesn’t stop Putin from anything. Might arrest the current shooting but I doubt whether it will be a deterrent to the Kremlin undermining Ukrainian institutions or meddling in its society. Deposed Ukrainian oligarchs and friends of Putin are rubbing their hands in anticipation of a Ukrainian Presidential election. You can be certain the FSB hoods in the Lubyanka dungeons are prepping the Novichok doses as we speak.
Only time will tell what this deal will accomplish. It’s still a long way from an armistice let alone a lasting peace. Putin, I understand already wants in even more on the pending deals and Trumpigula’s largess.
Darth Putin smells money, more power and more influence coming his way. Time to suck back and reload for awhile. He is a master strategist.

Let's be honest. Ukraine would give up naming rights to change Kyiv to TrumpTown if they were asked to. They are only surviving in this war because of US support. If we stop, Russia takes over the whole country (baltic nations next...). Hopefully we remember with great power comes great responsibility... quoting spiderman at 10pm here.

Not so fast!
Putin has some questions, concerns and conditions:
“We were interested in him sitting there,” Putin told Zarubin, adding that Zelensky is, in his view, “destroying Ukraine from within.”
Then Putin shifted focus to his plans for Ukraine’s political future, asserting that he is determined “to bring to power people who will enjoy the trust of the people of Ukraine.” This suggests potential future moves toward installing new leadership favorable to Kremlin interests.
In a further twist, Putin indirectly implied that these strategies are part of prior agreements with US President Donald Trump.

But wait! There’s still more to come:
Moscow would not stop at the current contact lines in Ukraine and sought to capture the entirety of four Ukrainian regions it claimed to have annexed via illegal referendums, according to a Wednesday statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“Some say: ‘Okay, let’s leave the line of contact. This is Russian, and this is Ukrainian.’ This will not happen. We have a Constitution based on the will of the people,” Lavrov said at a press conference, referring to Moscow’s illegal referendums in Ukraine.
