Like the leftists used to say about Stalin, Andy, Putin is just misunderstood. You just have to stop threatening him.

I guess we’ll see what happens. Trump said he’d get the war stopped in a day. I’d be fine with 6 months.

I’m wondering if his plan to end the war is by invading Ukraine, ourselves?

Interesting question. It could very well be since Trump speaks of sending American miners and oil patch roughnecks to Ukraine ostensibly as human shields against future aggression from Russia. If true, both the logic and morality seem strange and borne of a bygone era. It suggests that Ukrainian and Russian lives are of little or no value to him but American material interests on Ukraine’s territory in the form of natural resources are of great value and worth to defend militarily.

Ukraine could still become our 51st state.

If Russia took Ukraine, the EU would probably really appreciate having a strong US military based in Greenland… Just saying…

Are there any Trump opponents, on this board or in public, that have a workable plan to end the Ukraine War?

Not really. In fact not at all. Gaza is by far a more strategically suitable location for a massive multi force US strategic military facility. One could make a whole list of rock solid and bullet proof reasons supporting that claim. It also appears quite attainable in the short run. Possibly even before the beginning of summer.

See? There you go using global geography… You have to use ‘Merican geography… then you’ll realize that North is North … Europe is a Northern continent, and is closer to Greenland, no matter the miles (or even that gay “kilometer” crap, if you insist. Everybody knows that Gaza borders Egypt, which is Northern Africa. And Africa’s south, so obviously Greenland’s closer to Europe.

Seriously, though? It is absolutely astounding looking at the satellite maps and realizing just the sheer frigging size of Russia (what is it, 10% of the landmass of the world?) and the population is about 150M? And 80% of that is in an area roughly the size as the Easter Seaboard? I mean, north of Yakutsk, it’s just miles of nothing.

My Rubio’s gone a long way from lampooning Trump’s small hands a decade ago..

Personally, I think young Marco will be the first cabinet appointee to bail -.or be thrown under the bus - thus initiating the revolving door theatre that came to characterize Trump’s first term cabinet.

I expect less turnover this time because he didn't pick anyone who valued their own integrity over loyalty to Trump. This time he specifically excluded such people.

And that was mostly what got people out of his good graces, such as they were.

Yeah it’s insane how much land is there. Also, I know almost nothing about Russian history other than it seems intriguingly complex and am always blown away at the sheer number of solder/deaths in each major war. So many.

A lot of people thought if Ukraine's defense was good enough, the Russians would suffer so many casualties Putin would pull his horns in.

That doesn't look to be happening. Why? I don't know. Ask Renauda, he has Russian insight.

What I know, is that Ukraine does not have the manpower or the weapons to fight combined maneuver warfare. They can continue to fight a defensive fight, but spring is coming.

And if Putin continues to pour in manpower and equipment, Ukraine loses a war of attrition.

After that, I guess they could try to go Afghanistan on Russia, but very few people have that kind of societal tenacity.
