It's simply criminal to make any Oscar picks before watching Emilia Perez.

I watched part of it. In terms of filmmaking style, it is brilliant - very original. But I haven't finished it and I'm not sure it holds any further interest. Style only goes so far.

Finished Emilia Perez tonight. Some high points but it eventually devolves into an unbelievable mess.

If it wins it will be political not artistic.

I can’t remember what I posted before but overall I liked Conclave, the visuals, the insight into the ceremony, and of course I’m a big fan of the cast (Fiennes, Tucci, Lithgow…), the ending made me think it won’t will best picture but it’s also not as controversial as it could’ve been…

Also that it was a shoe in for an Oscar until one of the stars committed wrongthink.

I think it will probably get an Oscar, but not best picture. There were some great performances and creative filmmaking but overall it just devolved into a gangster flick.
